Based on the proven ergonomic design of the Freestyle2 and its predecessor, the Freestyle Solo, the Freestyle Edge is an adjustable, separated keyboard that provides a wide range of ergonomic benefits. The Freestyle Edge Gaming Keyboard is divided into two separate modules connected by a linking cable that can be adjusted in length from 12" to 20". This separation allows individuals to position the left and right sides of the keyboard shoulder width apart, allowing the shoulders, elbows, arms and wrists to relax in an anatomically neutral position. This greatly improves posture and blood flow in the upper body, prevents undesirable rotation at the shoulders, and eliminates ulnar deviation at the wrist. For gamers this separation offers the additional advantage of being able to position a mousing device, joystick or other controller centrally located between the keyboard halves. As well, for games which rely primarily on left hand controls the right half can be positioned out of the way to the right and with the left module and mouse or controller being brought in to a more central location.

The symmetrical, compact design (achieved by eliminating the ten key numeric pad) reduces the reach for the mouse for both left- and right-handed individuals. The Freestyle Edge Gaming Keyboard provides access to numbers along the top row. Those who want a stand-alone numeric keyboard have the option of adding either the Mechanical Keypad for PC or the Freestyle2 Keypad for PC and Mac.

The Freestyle Edge Gaming Keyboard is available in four models that each feature different premium Cherry Mechanical keyswitches - Cherry MX Blue, Cherry MX Brown, Cherry MX Red, or Cherry MX Silver. Optional cushioned pads that adhere to the included Palm Supports are availabe for purchase, as well as the Lift Kit (AC910) that facilitates tenting (outward angling) of 5°, 10° and 15° to reduce Wrist and Forearm Pronation. Contour Design offers two different Shuttle devices that are powerful productivity enhancement tools for video and audio editors. The ShuttlePRO V.2 offers the wider range of function and customization. The alloy inner ring or "shuttle" has 3 "dimples" for fingertip control and rotates smoothly and continuously through 360°, with distinct tactile detents. The outer black ring or "jog" is rubberized and spring-loaded. It facilitates fast forward and rewind, and returns to centre immediately upon release. There are two models of the USB version. The XD-293 come with pre-printed legends for commonly assigned tasks (on the bottom of the plastic keycaps), but these legends can be covered with the included blank labels to allow you to customize as needed. The XD-03 has blank plastic keycaps (i.e. nothing initially pre-printed on the units).

The X-keys XBE-24 Keypad from PI Engineering is a robust programmable keypad that lets individuals customize their input by mapping complex macros, specialized commands, and shortcuts to a single key. The keypad can be programmed in two ways. In software mode the programming software stores the program on the host computer, ideal for situations where revisions to the programming may be required. In hardware mode the programming is written to the internal memory and the device can be pre-programmed and then deployed to any computer that accepts USB keyboard input.

The XBE-24 Keypad can be programmed in 2 distinct layers with 46 programmable functions and serve as addition or substitution to the standard USB keyboard. This device can send keystrokes to any operating system or application which recognizes a USB keyboard. Clear key lenses keep printed or handwritten legends securely in place and protect them from wear while making it quick and easy to update them. XBE-24 keypads are also equipped with fully addressable RGB backlighting (both colour and intensity), and have two separately programmable LEDs per switch.

The Free MacroWorks 3 (MW3) Software for Windows provides simple programming for launching applications, opening files or accessing directories. It also facilitates the insertion of special characters, foreign language letters and symbols as Unicode text strings which can then be assigned to any key. MacroWorks 3 can be used to program the keypad in hardware mode for deployment on Mac computers. Mac users also have the option of the basic X-Keys Mac App or the third party Keyboard Maestro software. PI Engineering's new PI3 firmware offers new capabilities to the developer including flash updates, a joystick / mouse emulation and the newly developed Reflector Mode. Reflector Mode allows the developer to send outbound messages to the X-keys which can be reflected back to the Operating System in keyboard, mouse or joystick data stream.

XBE-24 Keypads are designed for survival in rough environments with a machined aluminum housing. The robust design makes these equally suitable for deployment in office or industrial settings. The base is angled to offer enhanced viewing in landscape mode and the backlighting also makes them ideal where lighting levels are low.
