The clearly defined lines of the Evoluent VerticalMouse C naturally encourage correct hand placement by guiding the hand to the position of greatest comfort. A slight inward curve on the front half of the Evoluent VerticalMouse C permits the fingers to curl naturally and to relax against the buttons. The high gloss front contrasts with the black satin-finish control surfaces. This satin finish permits the hand to easily slide into position when transitioning between keyboard and mouse.

The Evoluent C features three primary buttons (left, middle and right click) and two secondary thumb buttons (back and forward). Unlike other Evoluent VerticalMouse models, these primary buttons on the Evoluent VerticalMouse C are integrated into the body of the mouse, eliminating the break between "body" and "button". Support for the little finger is provided by a support flange molded into the body of the mouse. A high quality scroll wheel with soft detents is angled slightly downward to facilitate a natural scrolling action by the index or middle fingers. (Note: The scroll wheel on the Evoluent VerticalMouse C is NOT "clickable".) Button functions are pre-assigned but may be reprogrammed using the free downloadable Evoluent Mouse Manager software. The software offers access to a wide range of additional functions, including an auto-click option that can be activated to reduce repetitive left clicking.

The Evoluent VerticalMouse C is also equipped with a high-performance four-level sensor. The pointer speed can easily be cycled through the settings from low to high using the small button located just behind the scroll wheel. LEDs on the shoulder of the mouse indicate the active setting.

The Evoluent VerticalMouse C is styled to serve those with larger hands or longer fingers. The design features a forward slant, resulting in longer buttons that may offer more support for longer fingers than those on the VerticalMouse 4. Despite being able to better accommodate larger or longer hands than the VM4, the "footprint" of the VerticalMouse C is slightly shorter and narrower, requiring no additional surface space.
Note: If a clickable scroll wheel is important the VerticalMouse 4 (standard size) or the Medium or Large models of the VerticalMouse D should be considered. Be sure to consult the appropriate sizing guides when making a size selection.

The Evoluent VerticalMouse C is also available in a Wireless (VMCRW) version.

For hands that are identified as being more suited to a Small model there are both Wired and Wireless Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 Small models available. The Small provides all of the ergonomic benefits provided by the Standard Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 but is better suited to those with smaller hands.

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 is a contoured wireless mouse with four-way scrolling, instant viewing of your open windows, and a magnifier function to enlarge or edit details on your page.

Note: This mouse is not the same as the Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000, which is discontinued.

The Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse from Microsoft is intended to encourage more natural hand and wrist postures with an angled body designed to remove the wrist from contact with the mousing surface. The sculpted thumb scoop helps the hand maintain this angled position which is intended to reduce pressure on the carpal tunnel. Windows 8 users can benefit from the clearly marked Windows Logo key which provides quick access to the Start Screen. The scroll wheel provides full 4-way scroll control and a convenient Back button is available for quicker navigation. While somewhat similar in design to the discontinued Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000, it should be noted that this mouse is smaller in all dimensions than the 6000. While making it easier to transport, by definition it provides less support for most individuals who do not have relatively small hands.

One limitation of this mouse is that it is designed to work only with recent versions of Windows (7, RT, & 8). and a driver download is necessary to take advantage of all the features.

The VerticalMouse 3 was the third generation of the popular Evoluent VerticalMouse which continues to hold its lead in vertical mouse design. The VerticalMouse 3 introduced user-adjustable resolution, accessible using a button and indicator light on the underside of the mouse. This made adjusting pointer speed easier and further improved tracking. The adjustment and indicator have been moved to the side and top of the mouse in sucessive models to facilate easier adjustment.

Although the VerticalMouse 3 is now discontinued it has been replaced by the VerticalMouse 4 and VerticalMouse D, both of which offer the same vertical orientation but now with improved ergonomic contours, multiple sizes, and expanded features.

The Ergonomic Mouse from Microsoft is a basic medium-sized mouse designed for right-handed use. The contoured body provides a resting flange for the thumb to discourage the pinching action that many use when moving their mouse. The mouse is equipped with a clickable textured metal scroll wheel that features crisp detents.
