The RBT Rebel Real Mouse from Quadraclicks Gaming introduces a new concept in computer mouse design. The unique "reverse activation" design is intended to reduce or eliminate Trigger Finger, one of the common RSI injuries encountered by those who engage in heavy mouse clicking.

Unlike traditional mice where the optimized click force occurs at the fingertips, the RBT Rebel Real Mouse uses a "reverse" design on the buttons. This means that the fronts of the buttons where the clicks would normally be generated are actually "fixed". This permits the fingers to rest upon the end of the mouse and use this as another point of control for moving and targeting the mouse. Conventional mice do not offer this ability as the end of the mouse is dynamic and where the mouse button clicks are generated. Moving the click to the back of the buttons eliminates the "hovering" or "cocked finger" posture that is common with the usage of traditional "front click" mice. Eliminating this action can significantly decrease or eliminate the risk of developing Trigger Finger in the index finger, a common disabling and potentially painful condition where the finger wants to "lock" in place.

The "reverse activation" concept moves the activation back towards the palm of hand, with the triggering action being generated by the first finger section above the palm - the metacarpals. Because the activation occurs much earlier in the finger significantly less force and movement is required, which reduces the load on the finer structures further along towards the fingertips.

Because the RBT accommodates the "resting" of the fingers at the front of the buttons and eliminates the hovering action there is also potential for it to decrease the degree of Wrist Extension that is experienced with most "traditional" mice. In addition, because the fingertips are not "tapping" the buttons there is less reason for the nerves to become overly sensitized as can happen with other mice.

The RBT Rebel Mouse features a rubberized scroll wheel with crisp detents,6 DPI settings (ranging from 500 - 10,800), and Back/Forward buttons above the thumb rest. It is sized to best suit small to average sized hands although those with larger hands may still be able to benefit from some of the features.

The 3M Ergonomic Mouse (formerly the Renaissance Mouse) features a unique, vertical grip design which largely eliminates pronation. It is ideal for those who have limited articulation of their fingers and need to 'hook' their hand onto a mouse. The mouse is for right handed individuals only and available in both a wired and wireless model.

The Lift Vertical Mouse from Logitech is styled after the larger MX Vertical Advance Ergonomic Mouse. The Lift, designed specifically for small to medium-sized hands, offers the same fixed 57° to reduce the risks associated with pronation of the forearm. The angled body is designed to provide some support necessary for the hand to "relax" while engaged with the mouse.

The Lift Vertical Mouse is equipped with a top quality sensor capable of reading from 400 - 4000 DPI. With a nominal setting of 1000 DPI, the Lift can be adjusted anywhere within the range in 100 DPI increments. The Lift Vertical Mouse offers 2 wireless connection options: 2.4Ghz Logi Bolt Receiver with an operation distance up to 33 feet, and Bluetooth (Bluetooth Low Energy Technology required). It is powered by a single AA battery that the manufacture claims can provide up to 24 months of use (of course, individual usage may affect this). Using Logitech "FLOW" it is possible to connect with and control up to 3 computing devices using a single mouse.

The Pro Fit Full Size Mouse from Kensington is a contoured mouse for right-handed users. This durable USB mouse requires no drivers and comes with a PS/2 adapter. DPI settings can be changed using the switch behind the scroll wheel. Wired and wireless models are available.

The R-Go HE Sport Ergonomic Mouse from R-Go Tools rotates the hand upward and outward. This angled posture reduces strain on the tissues of the forearm when compared with the traditional pronated "palm down" position. The "flatness" of the buttons on the MX Vertical prohibit the fingers from achieving a fully relaxed and naturally curved "position of function". This factor, combined with the almost slick surface on the buttons could lead users to try to "pinch" the mouse between the thumb and fingers in an attempt to achieve a better sensation of "control". In addition, to minimize the activation force on the buttons the fingertips need to be as close to the end of the buttons as possible. Those with large hands or very long fingers may be able to achieve this position but most users will find their fingertips falling short of this "optimum" position, resulting in a higher force being required for click activation.

The Rockstick Mouse offers an ingenious alternative to address the single most repetitive activity while using a computer - generating left mouse clicks.
