The X-Keys L-Trac Black Trackball from PI Engineering combines a high level optical sensor capable of resolutions up to 1600 CPI (counts per inch) with a robust build and history of durability, reliability and performance, carrying on the legacy of the L-Trac and PC-Trac Trackballs formerly manufactured by Clearly Superior Technologies. The L-Trac features an optical laser sensor that offers "button selectable" tracking resolutions of 400, 800 and 1600 CPI, easily changed on the fly. Combined with this is the ability of the L-Trac to track at speeds exceeding 30 inches per second, even at a 20G acceleration rate. A wide light touch scroll wheel or cylinder is readily accessible, located above the center button. In addition, two 3.5 mm jacks permit the attachment of two external switches which can be programmed to perform an additional two actions, resulting in full 5-button functionality. The programming software can also be used to disable or reassign any or all of the on-board buttons when used with external switches in an assistive application.

The L-Trac provides users with a precision, high performance pointing device. The large 57 mm diameter weighted trackball produces predictable, quick, and precise cursor control. Most users will find that movement becomes intuitive within a few minutes of use, with the level of control increasing over time.

The level of performance and range of features, coupled with the proven contour of the L-Trac makes these trackballs an appropriate option for all applications including general computing, gaming and Computer Aided Design (CAD). CAD users love it because a line can be dragged one pixel even on high resolution displays. Then, with a button stroke, the cursor can fly around the screen to get general tasks done. The L-Trac is known for providing fingertip control and precision, high performance tracking.

Designed to minimize the effects of contamination build up and the resultant degradation of performance, this high performance laser trackball uses highly polished stainless steel rollers. These rollers tend to collect less dirt and debris than the mechanisms used in most other trackballs and are easily cleaned by spinning the ball rapidly.

The n-ABLER PRO Trackball from Pretorian is specifically designed to address the needs of computer users with limited hand control, motor skill difficulties, poor hand-eye coordination, lack of manual dexterity and involuntary muscle spasms. This functionality is packaged in a "Professional" housing that will blend easily into office or classroom environments, reducing undesired attention. The glossy silver upper housing offers limited resistance to hand repositioning and the black buttons feature contrasting white legends for increased visibility.

The n-ABLER PRO Trackball offers the same basic functions (cursor control, left click, right click, double click, and drag lock) as does the standard n-ABLER Trackball but in addition also offers a locking "pan" function which enables vertical and horizontal scrolling using the trackball without the need to hold down a button. It also features an "Anti-Tremor" function with three settings to enhance cursor control for users experiencing hand tremors of varying degrees.

Cursor control is provided by a large 63 mm, free-running ball which responds to minimal effort. To avoid accidental movement the trackball projects only slightly above the housing, with the activation buttons fully recessed to avoid accidental activation as well as to aid users in button targeting. Dual mini-phono jacks permit the attachment of a variety of external switches to provide users with easier access to the Left and Right click functions. Users who find the traditional orientation unsuitable have the option of 'teaching' the trackball to orient itself at 90° increments, freeing the user to change the housing orientation for optimum usage and comfort. The trackball also offers an optional buzzer setting which provides notification as specific functions are activated or deactivated.

The design of the n-ABLER PRO Trackball offers fingertip precision control and requires only minimal hand movement. This can reduce wrist and elbow fatigue, as it requires noticeably less effort. The symmetrical design enables users to work with either hand without having to angle the wrist, and the unit can also be configured for left-handed operation. Its large, integrated hand support/palm rest makes work posture more relaxed and less strained.

Note: The release of iOS13 for Apple portable devices included support for USB Pointing Devices. This means that virtually all of the Pretorian Mouse Replacement solutions can now be used with iPads and iPhones that have iOS13 or newer. Connection to the portable device requires a camera adapter cable. Because the mousing device will be powered by the phone or tablet it is preferable to use one with pass-through charging so the portable device can charge while the mousing device is attached and in use.

The X-Keys O-Trac from PI Engineering is a robustly built trackball with a long history of durability, reliability and performance, carrying on the legacy of the PC-Trac Trackballs formerly manufactured by Clearly Superior Technologies.

The X-Keys O-Trac Trackball offers a gently-angled profile that serves as a natural hand rest. The gradual curve of the body mirrors the natural contour of the hand and is designed to easily accommodate both right- and left-handed use, as well as multiple hand sizes.

Unlike most trackballs on the market, the high density phenolic trackball in the O-Trac has significant inertia. This provides far more tactile feedback than that normally offered by mass market trackballs, while still offering smooth response to even a light touch. The PC-Trac also offers "dynamic acceleration" which increases distance covered proportional to the speed of rotation. This feature ensures fine control as well as offering accurate rapid movement when required. (See the Features section on the Detailed Specifications Page for a deeper explanation of this feature.)

The O-Trac Trackball offers both "middle click" and "drag lock" functions (see the Features for more details

X-keys Trackballs work right out of the box, no software is required. If you wish to assign different functions to the buttons the manufacturer recommends using X-Mouse Button Control.

The Optima Trackball from Pretorian is a durable desktop trackball designed with the requirements of users with limited motor skills in mind, yet totally suitable for use by a wide range of users. The angled housing provides an ergonomically supportive position for the hand by providing a place to rest during use.

The large 2" diameter trackball rises 0.7" above the trackball housing, presenting a significant profile for the hand to make contact with. The free-running trackball is securely mounted in the housing and offers smooth movement from even a light touch. Tracking is provided by an optical sensor which eliminates mechanical parts which can fail from wear while still offering precise tracking and cursor control.

Colour-coded and recessed control buttons for Left Click, Right Click, and Drag-Lock are positioned above the trackball. The recessed location assists users in guiding their fingers to the appropriate buttons as well as preventing accidental activation that could occur with flush or raised buttons. In addition, the Optima is also equipped with dual ports which accommodate the attachment of external switches for activation of the left and right click functions. These can be used to offer users with limited motor control alternative methods of clicking.

Note: The latest release of iOS13 for Apple portable devices includes support for USB Pointing Devices. This means that virtually all of the Pretorian Mouse Replacement solutions can now be used with iPads and iPhones that have iOS13 or newer. Connection to the portable device requires a "camera adapter cable". Because the mousing device will be powered by the phone or tablet it is preferable to use one with pass-through charging so the portable device can charge while the mousing device is attached and in use.

The Orbit Fusion Wireless Trackball from Kensington features a contoured body that supports the hand in a naturally relaxed position, rotated outwards at approximately 40°. The large 40 mm trackball provides silky-smooth and virtually effortless cursor control and is positioned so that multiple fingers can share the workload. Three DPI settings are available, a fixed 400 DPI for fine control and two dynamic ranges of 400-800 and 800-1500 DPI that respond to the rate of the trackball rotation to provide both speed and control. Speed adjustment is achieved via the thumb switch. A convenient patented light-action detent-free scroll ring around the base of the trackball gives quick access to scrolling and for viewing lengthy documents a quick press of the thumb on the middle-click button converts the trackball to scroll function. On the thumb side are conveniently-placed Left Click, Middle Click, Back and Forward, and DPI buttons. A large right-click button is positioned to the right of the trackball for access by the ring finger.

Since the Orbit Fusion connects wirelessly and can be placed on any surface - even soft or uneven ones, this a great mousing option when working on a Smart TV. The 2.4 GHz wireless receiver connects via USB-A or USB-C (using the included adapter) for laptops or devices that do not include full-size USB ports. Basic functions are available plug-and-play but can also be customized using the KensingtonWorks software (Windows and Mac)

Those who in the past may have used the Microsoft Explorer or Logitech TrackMan Marble FX trackballs may find the Orbit Fusion Wireless Trackball to offer a degree of similarity to these discontinued devices. The overall angle, hand placement and finger control are similar and are now combined with improved overall function and performance.

Clearly Superior Technologies just added a cool factor to their line of L-Trac high-performance trackballs. The new L-Trac GLOW offers all the same functions of other L-Trac models but with a unique new look--a backlit translucent ball that glows a vibrant blue.

The L-Trac GLOW uses the same quality components that have enabled Clearly Superior Trackballs to develop a reputation for reliability and performance under demanding conditions. The precision-ground ball and mirror-finished rollers deliver a smooth-as-silk feel and effortless control. The ball on the L-Trac GLOW is 28% lighter than the traditional ball used in other L-Trac models, resulting in a reduced load on the fingers.

The L-Trac GLOW features high performance laser optical tracking with selectable resolutions of up to 1600 CPI. Button selectable resolutions enable rapid changes of sensitivity while maintaining full control of the trackball. The high performance laser navigation system is capable of tracking at greater than 20 inches per second. This means the user can fly around the screen with a flick of the finger or snap from one side of the screen to the other with a healthy flick of the arm. Either way, this precision, high performance pointing device produces predictable, quick and precise motion that becomes intuitive in a few minutes of use. The scroll wheel is smooth and readily accessible, located above the center button.

The design is completely ambidextrous, accommodating either right or left-handed users. The extra large ball and contoured profile allow for easier control and accommodate hands of all sizes--from children's to adults'. The lighter weight of the ball on the L-Trac Glow makes it a good option for children or those who have limited strength in their fingers.

Performance users can expand their command options by selecting the CST2545-5WGL-RC. This model includes jacks to connect two additional external switches.

The MX Ergo Wireless Trackball from Logitech shares many design features with the M570 Wireless Trackball. The body contours are virtually identical, with more angular lines and a metallic grey trackball to distinguish it from the M570. The differences focus on improved ergonomics and expanded functionality. The MX Ergo Wireless Trackball features a magnetic base plate on which the trackball can be angled to either 0° or 20° by a simple shift of pressure from the hand.

The MX Ergo Trackball transfers all cursor control to the thumb, which virtually eliminates arm movement when mousing. Accurate adjustable optical tracking is provided by a 380 DPI laser sensor with a thumb-activated Precision Mode button. The contoured body provides a relaxing support for the hand, naturally positioning the fingers over the right and left buttons. A rubber-coated tilting scroll wheel with crisp detents is conveniently positioned between these buttons to complete the traditional mouse control layout. The index finger has easy access to convenient Back and Forward Buttons for browsing through multiple pages of a document or web page.

The MX Ergo Wireless Trackball offers Dual Connectivity - USB via the Logitech Unifying receiver, or Bluetooth (see Detailed Specifications for compatibility details). Those working with multiple computers at a time may wish to take advantage of the "Logitech Flow" capability to connect with and work seamlessly across two separate computers.Note: As the MX Ergo Wireless Trackball places the workload fully upon the thumb, (which on most other trackballs is generally shared by several fingers), anyone who has existing thumb issues would be well-advised to consider alternative solutions.

The Ergo M575 Wireless Trackball from Logitech replaces the earlier M570 Wireless Trackball, offering improved connectivity options. Like its predecessor, the M575 takes most of the repetitive movements and strain which the entire hand usually must perform and allocates all the workload to the thumb. Accurate optical tracking is provided by a laser sensor that offers 400-2000 DPI resolutions. With a contoured body that provides a relaxing support for the hand, the Ergo M575 is equipped with a scroll wheel and right and left click buttons, all positioned as with a traditional mouse. In addition there are Back and Forward Buttons for convenience when browsing through multiple pages. The trackball body is shaped to let the hand rest in a natural relaxed position. As with the earlier M570 model, the M575 is best suited to those with small- or average-sized hands.

Connection can be made via either Bluetooth or the storable USB mini receiver, with a single AA battery providing up to 2 years of service. A battery life indicator will advise when the battery needs replacing. Software available from Logitech offers customization of trackball functions and performance.

Note: As the Ergo M575 places the workload fully upon the thumb, (which on most other trackballs is generally shared amongst several fingers), anyone who has existing thumb issues would be well-advised to consider alternative solutions.

The L-Trac from Clearly Superior Technologies combines a high level optical sensor capable of resolutions up to 1600 CPI (counts per inch) with the robust build for which the original PC-Trac line is well-known. An optional scroll wheel (available on select models) is smooth and readily accessible, located above the center button.

CAD users love it because you can drag a line one pixel even on high resolution displays. Then, with a button stroke, they can fly around the screen to get general tasks done. Gamers have called it an "almost unfair advantage", citing the fingertip control and precision, high performance tracking.

Designed to minimize the effects of contamination build up and the resultant degradation of performance, this high performance laser trackball uses highly polished stainless steel rollers. It has been found by CST that the "ruby ball sliders" used in most optical trackballs, cause performance degradation when gunk builds up on them. The L-Trac uses mirror polished stainless steel rollers do not readily collect unwanted material and are easily cleared by spinning the ball rapidly. The Dupont Delrin bearings are embedded with Teflon and internally coated with a lifetime lubricant making the feel of this trackball extremely smooth and it's reliability very robust. The user-replaceable stainless steel rollers are extremely tough and designed to handle hard usage yet still provide users with controlled smooth movement.

The L-Trac is now available from PI Engineering as the X-Keys L-Trac
