The Penguin Ambidextrous Vertical Mouse from Posturite allows the user to rest either hand comfortably alongside the vertical structure, encouraging the use of the gross motor muscles in the forearm and upper arm to manoeuvre the mouse. Fine cursor control can be achieved with small hand and/or finger movements. Its ambidextrous design and central ‘bow-tie’ switch allow for easy transition between right and left handed use. The weight of the hand resting on the base ensures easy movement and control of the mouse, reducing the need to "grip" the mouse and permitting the fingers to remain relaxed while still being in optimum position for clicking. Features include adjustable DPI (400, 600, 800, or 1200), a precision scroll wheel and silver-based antimicrobial coating. The Penguin is available in both wired and wireless rechargeable models.

The DXT Ergonomic Mouse 2 from City Ergonomics is a fingertip vertical mouse designed to enable the hand and wrist to adopt a relaxed vertical posture. Control of the mouse is achieved by using the small muscles and joints of the fingers as opposed to the larger muscle groups of the shoulder and arm. Since the fingertips provide much greater precision than the arm, this makes the DXT mouse suitable for users seeking precision and fine control. The DXT Ergonomic Mouse 2 features light click buttons to minimize the effort required for clicking. The unique ambidextrous design enables the user to easily balance the workload between the left and right hands. The convenience of wireless lets the user casually switch between right and left hand use without the inconvenience of rerouting a cord.

The DXT Ergonomic Mouse 2 moves with minimal resistance, requiring nominal effort to accomplish effective cursor control. The weighted zinc base provides vertical stability and enhanced tactile feedback. There are four DPI (dots per inch) settings, further enhancing the sensitivity and increasing accuracy when performing fine cursor movements. This also permits the user to have greater control over the speed of the cursor when performing tasks requiring different degrees of control. For extended battery life the DXT Wireless goes into "Sleep" mode after approximately 5 minutes of inactivity. The DXT Mouse 2 is also available as a Wiredmodel.

The Rockstick2 Mouse retains all of the benefits and functionality of the original Rockstick Mouse but introduces a new design and added capabilities. As with the original Rockstick Mouse, the Rockstick2 addresses one of the most repetitive activities of computer use--generating mouse clicks. Rather than using one or two fingers to click a button, the user simply rocks the body of the mouse, tilting it slightly to the left or right to generate a click. The strenth of the entire hand can be used to generate the click, rather than the much more limited strength of the index or middle fingers. This makes the Rockstick Mouse2 a potentially good alternative for individuals with trigger finger or arthritis, or for anyone who has difficulty clicking the buttons on a conventional mouse.

The new design is also ambidextrous, enabling both left- and right-handed users to experience the benefits. The scroll wheel is located on the inside of the mouse, where it can be accessed easily by the thumb. This newest model also features variable DPI and a flange to keep the little finger clear of the worksurface. Two size options (Small/Medium and Large) are available.Note: The wired version of the Rockstick Mouse2 has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

The BLUELINE Joystick from Pretorian is a technology-access device that connects via Bluetooth to any Apple devices with iOS13.4.1 onwards, Android devices, or other computing devices that have Bluetooth support, either internally or via an add-on bluetooth receiver dongle. The USB-rechargeable battery can provide up to 15 hours of continuous use. The BLUELINE Joystick is designed for those who may have limited hand control or strength, motor skill difficulties, poor hand-eye coordination, and lack of manual dexterity and offers excellent cursor control as well as up to 5 programmable button functions (3 on-board, 2 optional external). This functionality is packaged in a sturdy housing designed to survive under heavy use. The three on-board activation buttons are coloured and recessed to help guide the fingers into position. The symmetrical design makes this joystick suited for use with either hand by simply reprogramming the on-board switch configuration with the raised body providing support for the wrist.

The design of the BLUELINE Joystick offers precision control and requires minimal hand movement and just 0.5 Newtons of force to initiate cursor movement. The cursor moves very slowly when the joystick is minimally displaced from centre, permitting extremely accurate cursor positioning. As the displacement is increased the cursor accelerates to the chosen maximum speed (4 settings available). The adjustable maximum cursor speed also lets the BLUELINE Joystick be configured to serve the needs of those who may have limitations related to fine motor control, with the lowest cursor speed offering a greater level of control in that application. The joystick ships with the standard joystick, a T-Bar handle, or a soft-grip ball for configuration to meet personal requirements.

Three on-board buttons provide basic functions (primary functions vary with device) but are also custom programmable to perform a wide range of optional functions. The middle button is a lighter shade than the left and right buttons for easier identification. Dual mini-phono jacks also permit the attachment of external switches that can also be programmed. Available commands include Left Click, Right Click, Middle Click, Drag, Double Click, Delayed Drag, Swipe Left, and Swipe Right. Additional features and customization are also available. For full details on the available functions, customization of commands, and setup of the BLUELINE Joystick please read the User Manual.

The JAZZ Joystick from Pretorian was designed to address the needs of those who may lack fine motor skills. It can provide standard cursor control as well as switch scanning access. Unlike most other joysticks, the JAZZ is designed to specifically accommodate gross motor movements while providing accurate cursor control and switch scanning. Because the high-quality analogue joystick requires just 0.5 newtons of force to activate it is able to also serve the needs of individuals who also have limited strength in addition to reduced fine motor skills.

The Jazz Joystick has buttons for left click, right click (or double click), and drag lock functions. Dual mini-phono jacks also permit the attachment of external switches to provide easier access to the Left click function and for switching from Mouse Mode to Switch Scanning Mode. Differing needs can be met by changing the control surface between the included standard joystick, t-bar handle, or soft-grip ball. The Jazz can also be easily switched for left-handed operation which swaps the functions of the left and right buttons.

The enhanced cursor control is achieved by only permitting cursor movement to occur when the joystick is moved within a prescribed range of the horizontal and vertical axes (Standard Mode) or standard and diagonal axes (Diagonal Mode). Cursor activation is accompanied by an audible "click" (optional) to provide notification that movement has been achieved. Under standard operation the cursor begins movement slowly, accelerating to the selected maximum speed (4 available). When engaged the optional SmartTrack function modifies this behaviour by considering how long the cursor has been idle, providing more effective cursor control for those who are able to take advantage of this function.

The JAZZ Joystick features a durable heavy duty housing designed to survive heavy use. High contrast coloured buttons and control surfaces aid in determining position and function of the controls. The symmetrical design enables works equally well with either hand without having to angle the wrist. The large, integrated hand support/palm rest makes work posture more relaxed and less strained.

View the User Manual to see more details on making funtion modifications.

Note: The latest release of iOS13 for Apple portable devices includes support for USB Pointing Devices. This means that virtually all of the Pretorian Mouse Replacement solutions can now be used with iPads and iPhones that have iOS13 or newer. Connection to the portable device requires a "camera adapter cable". Because the mousing device will be powered by the phone or tablet it is preferable to use one with pass-through charging so the portable device can charge while the mousing device is attached and in use.

The X-Keys L-Trac Black Trackball from PI Engineering combines a high level optical sensor capable of resolutions up to 1600 CPI (counts per inch) with a robust build and history of durability, reliability and performance, carrying on the legacy of the L-Trac and PC-Trac Trackballs formerly manufactured by Clearly Superior Technologies. The L-Trac features an optical laser sensor that offers "button selectable" tracking resolutions of 400, 800 and 1600 CPI, easily changed on the fly. Combined with this is the ability of the L-Trac to track at speeds exceeding 30 inches per second, even at a 20G acceleration rate. A wide light touch scroll wheel or cylinder is readily accessible, located above the center button. In addition, two 3.5 mm jacks permit the attachment of two external switches which can be programmed to perform an additional two actions, resulting in full 5-button functionality. The programming software can also be used to disable or reassign any or all of the on-board buttons when used with external switches in an assistive application.

The L-Trac provides users with a precision, high performance pointing device. The large 57 mm diameter weighted trackball produces predictable, quick, and precise cursor control. Most users will find that movement becomes intuitive within a few minutes of use, with the level of control increasing over time.

The level of performance and range of features, coupled with the proven contour of the L-Trac makes these trackballs an appropriate option for all applications including general computing, gaming and Computer Aided Design (CAD). CAD users love it because a line can be dragged one pixel even on high resolution displays. Then, with a button stroke, the cursor can fly around the screen to get general tasks done. The L-Trac is known for providing fingertip control and precision, high performance tracking.

Designed to minimize the effects of contamination build up and the resultant degradation of performance, this high performance laser trackball uses highly polished stainless steel rollers. These rollers tend to collect less dirt and debris than the mechanisms used in most other trackballs and are easily cleaned by spinning the ball rapidly.

The Mousetrapper Flexible adds flexibility to inline / central pointing devices by offering both wired and wireless operation in a single product. Cursor control is achieved through the use of a steering pad, centrally located directly below the keyboard eliminates the need to move an entire device to change the onscreen position of the cursor. The steering pad is designed to be controlled by by either hand, and provides a slip-free surface for the finger tips, to provide near effortless onscreen navigation and cursor control. The fingers can rest on the steering pad between mouse activation tasks, with clicking accomplished simply by pressing down against the pad.

The two-dimensional steering pad offers an intuitive interface that may be easier to adjust to than rollerbars, touchpads or trackballs. It provides effortless access to vertical scroll, browse forward and browse back features. Reprogrammable buttons around the pad provide the standard mouse button functions as well as access to common keyboard shortcuts.

Note: Plugging the device in keeps the battery fully charged for mobile use. For portability, the Mousetrapper can be packed into the included neoprene travel bag (SMT507 model only). The included wireless receiver is stored inside the body of the device.

The L-Trac from Clearly Superior Technologies combines a high level optical sensor capable of resolutions up to 1600 CPI (counts per inch) with the robust build for which the original PC-Trac line is well-known. An optional scroll wheel (available on select models) is smooth and readily accessible, located above the center button.

CAD users love it because you can drag a line one pixel even on high resolution displays. Then, with a button stroke, they can fly around the screen to get general tasks done. Gamers have called it an "almost unfair advantage", citing the fingertip control and precision, high performance tracking.

Designed to minimize the effects of contamination build up and the resultant degradation of performance, this high performance laser trackball uses highly polished stainless steel rollers. It has been found by CST that the "ruby ball sliders" used in most optical trackballs, cause performance degradation when gunk builds up on them. The L-Trac uses mirror polished stainless steel rollers do not readily collect unwanted material and are easily cleared by spinning the ball rapidly. The Dupont Delrin bearings are embedded with Teflon and internally coated with a lifetime lubricant making the feel of this trackball extremely smooth and it's reliability very robust. The user-replaceable stainless steel rollers are extremely tough and designed to handle hard usage yet still provide users with controlled smooth movement.

The L-Trac is now available from PI Engineering as the X-Keys L-Trac

The n-ABLER PRO Joystick from Pretorian is specifically designed to address the needs of computer users with limited hand control, motor skill difficulties, poor hand-eye coordination, lack of manual dexterity, and muscle spasms. This functionality is packaged in a "Professional" housing that will blend easily into office or classroom environments, reducing undesired attention. The glossy silver upper housing offers limited resistance to hand repositioning and the black buttons feature contrasting white legends for increased visibility.

The n-ABLER PRO Joystick provides cursor control as well as single-click controls for left click, right click, double click, and drag lock functions. In addition the n-Abler PRO Joystick also offers a locking "Pan" function which enables vertical and horizontal scrolling using the trackball without the need to hold down a button. It also features an "Anti-Tremor" function with three settings to enhance cursor control for users experiencing hand tremors of varying degrees.
Users who experience muscle spasms or extreme tremors may be interested in considering the n-ABLER Joystick or n-ABLER Trackball, both of which feature an "AXIS LOCK" which locks the cursor to the Vertical or Horizontal Access.

Cursor control on the n-ABLER PRO Joystick is provided by a joystick control which can be equipped for the individual needs of a user. Included are a standard joystick, a T-Bar handle, and a soft-grip ball. Dual mini-phono jacks also permit the attachment of a variety of external switches to provide users with easier access to the Left and Right click functions. Users who find the traditional orientation unsuitable have the option of "teaching" the trackball to orient itself at 90° increments, freeing the user to change the housing orientation for optimum usage and comfort. The n-ABLER Joystick also offers an optional buzzer setting which provides notification as specific functions are activated or deactivated.

The design of the n-ABLER PRO Joystick offers precision control and requires only minimal hand movement. This can reduce wrist and elbow fatigue, as it requires noticeably less effort. The symmetrical design enables users to work with either hand without having to angle the wrist, and the unit can also be configured for 'left-handed' operation. Its large, integrated hand support/palm rest makes work posture more relaxed and less strained.

The RollerMouse Red by Contour Design is a central pointing device that is positioned in prime real estate immediately between the operator and keyboard space bar. This keeps all mousing activity "inline", i.e., in the area immediately in front of the keyboard, eliminating the need to reach for a mouse. This also makes it suitable for use where there may be insufficient room for a mouse to be placed immediately beside the keyboard. Like all RollerMice, cursor movement is achieved by manipulating the tube-like cylindrical "rollerbar" with the fingertips. Rotating the rollerbar moves the cursor up and down, and sliding the bar from side to side accomplishes horizontal movement. Once the desired location is achieved, a left click can be generated by pressing down on the bar (the force required for this is adjustable from an ultra-light touch to highly tactile). Eight buttons and a scroll wheel are located below the bar to generate left/middle/right clicks, copy, paste, back, forward and vertical scrolling. There is also a cursor speed button between the copy and paste buttons for accessing ten different speed settings from 600 to 2800 dpi. The Red also comes with adjustable keyboard "risers" to lift up standard and compact single piece keyboards. Controls can also be customized using the downloadable driver.

The RollerMouse Red is equipped with a larger diameter rollerbar than the FREE3 or PRO3. This 0.8" diameter bar is 7.1" wide and offers a finer degree of control, especially for vertical movement. The entire surface of the bar is textured with raised bumps that offer tactile feedback to further improve all aspects of cursor control. The robust aluminum housing is solid and sturdy, and the padded palm support can be removed if desired to reduce the overall depth for greater comfort or if space is constrained. Innovative tracking technology on the RollerMouse Red further enhances cursor control, especially valuable on multi-monitor workstations. All these design elements make cursor control more precise and effortless without compromising durability and robustness. To further improve the ergonomics even the traditional mechanical "click" has been replaced with a newer "virtual" clicking mechanism that generates a "percussion-free" but audible "click" that can be adjusted in volume or fully disabled if so desired.

The RollerMouse Red is available with two different depths of palm support. The standard model is suitable for most individuals whereas the PLUS model has a noticeably deeper palm support that extends the overall depth of the PLUS by an additional 2.3 inches. Because this extra depth moves the Rollerbar and the keyboard further away from the body the PLUS is really only suitable for those with significantly larger or longer hands. Both models of the RollerMouse Red can also be purchased bundled with the low profile Balance Keyboard from Contour Design.

The RollerMouse Red is a wired device but if the freedom of a wireless device is desired the RollerMouse Red Wireless offers all of the same features combined with the convenience of wireless connection.

View the entire range of RollerMouse products here.
