The SPINDL ONE Executive Chair from Mey Chair systems combines an executive style office chair with the innovative MybTec 360 Seat Movement Module, creating an office chair that can shift and move with the user. The SPINDL ONE Executive Chair features a sliding seat pan and height adjustable armrests. The Twin Adjustable Saddle Chair with Backrest from Kanewell features the same comfortable split-saddle seat as the Twin Adjustable Saddle Stools. Along with seat width and angle adjustments, however, this model adds a large, generously padded fixed backrest for users who would benefit from the security of a seat back. (See note below.)

The HNDSFREE Saddle Seats from ErgoVerse are ideal for use where seat height adjustments may need to be made while the hands are otherwise engaged. The Foot Release Plate enables quick, easy, hands-free adjustment of the seat height from any point around the chair. Additionally, the straddle position ensures that the feet are well-planted for exceptional stability and upper body control, providing superior upper torso mobility and range of motion. The full 360° of free rotation facilitates easy alignment to patients and equipment or to reach other work areas as needed. The seat can be tilted forward up to 15°, and the gas lift cylinder allows the height of the seat to be adjusted from 24.8" to 30.3", making both models suitable for individuals ranging in heights from 5'7" to 6'2".

Equipped with special braking castors, HNDSFREE Saddle Seats also roll freely when occupied but stop moving as soon as weight is removed. This innovative feature enhances the overall safety of the work environment, and helps maintain focus on the task at hand.

Both models of the HNDSFREE Saddle Seat feature easily cleaned Black Imitation Leather upholstery and a chromium-plated steel base for durability.

Model HSS-B-11209 offers all of the above features, with the addition of a padded, height and angle adjustable back support. The support is 8.5" wide by 10.5" high with a shallow curvature making it suitable for all body types.

The two HNDSFREE Saddle Seat models offer different styles of saddle. The saddle on the standard non-backrest model is a more traditional saddle shape, deeply dished and with overall larger dimensions, especially in the depth. This makes it better suited to those with larger builds. The back rest model has a saddle that is shallower in depth (front to back) and also flatter, making it more suitable to average or smaller individuals or where a more traditional stool height may occasionally be required.

Note: Sitting on a Saddle Seat creates a seating elevation higher than a standard chair. Saddle stools are therefore not generally recommended for use at a fixed-height office desk. The Kanewell Twin Compact Saddle Chair with Articulating Backrest was developed to provide those of smaller or more slender build with a seating option better suited to their needs. This saddle stool features a comfortable split-saddle seat with the added benefit of splay and tilt adjustment for a personalized fit. For situations where a backrest may be desired* this stool is also equipped with a generously padded height- and angle-adjustable backrest that can also tilt to align to the back. The primary design is very similar to other Kanewell Twin Saddle models, with the saddle offering the same amount of cushioning and the same degree of splay at the front. However, because this seat is specifically intended for those of smaller build, the seat halves do not separate at the rear as on the full-size Kanewell Twin saddles, but rather pivot from a single point at the rear of the saddle to achieve the outward splay at the front. In addition to the splay feature the saddle also features the same locking tilt that permits individuals to position the seat at an angle that is most suitable for their needs or comfort.

Saddle seats are well-suited for use in active office environments, at raised counters, elevated workstations, or anywhere there is a need to be able to move into close proximity to the working area—such as dental, medical, or veterinary practices. The upright posture provided by the saddle-seating encourages better back posture, provides a much greater range of movement than that available from traditional seats, and enables virtually effortless movement about a workspace. The split-saddle is designed to reduce pressure points and improve airflow for a cooler and more comfortable experience, especially during longer periods of concentrated work. In order to meet the needs of those of smaller build the saddle on the Kanewell Twin Compact Saddle Chair with Articulating Backrest is both narrower and shallower than the standard seat (see comparison here). As well, as has been described earlier, it also has much less separation (see comparison here).

Upholstered in high grade Vinyl that is waterproof and resistant to most common cleaners and disinfectant formulations, the Kanewell Twin Compact seats are available in two height ranges to accommodate individuals of varying heights. Large diameter (60 mm) casters offer smooth movement throughout the workspace. Optional accessories include a footring to provide stability and comfort support when the chair is elevated (the height of the footring is adjustable independently of the height of the chair) and fixed glides as an alternative to the casters.

* Note: Saddle seats are not typically promoted with back rests as the saddle stance naturally encourages better back posture. The addition of a back may also limit movement and reduce the ergonomic benefit of a saddle-style seat, as there can be a tendency to relax against the back, reducing the level of core muscle engagement. It is also more difficult to mount and dismount from a saddle when a backrest is present. If a backrest is not specifically needed the Kanewell Twin Compact Adjustable Saddle Seat is available as a non-backrest version.

The EQUSIT Saddle Drafting Chair from ErgoVerse features a heavily padded, tilting, bicycle-style seat mounted to an elevated heavy duty steel frame. A gas spring provides a cushioned seat height range from 27.75" to 36.6", sufficient to provide a suitable seating height for most individuals working at elevated workstations. The wide back features 2" thick cushioning and has independent height and angle adjustments to optimize the comfort and ergonomic positioning.

Two footrest options are available. Model ESDC-83015 features a large 22.8" diameter heavy steel footring that includes a convenient height-adjustable (minimum of 9" above the floor) 360° fixed footrest. Model ESDC-F-83016 features a folding height-adjustable (also to a minimum height of 9") 120° footrest with angle adjustment. For safety, the steel footplate has an aggressively treaded surface. Both styles of footrest can be secured at greater elevations if necessary.

Both models also have oversized 27" diameter Chromed Steel bases equipped with glides. The large base and glides ensure stability when mounting and dismounting from the saddle. If desired, the base on Model ESDC-F-83016 can be folded flat for storage.

The NOSTND Perching Comfort PLUS Saddle Seat from ErgoVerse is designed to position the torso and arms as close as possible to a raised workstation, particularly those built on top of base cabinets or shelves. Unlike the seats on a leaning seat or traditional stool, the large plush saddle on the NOSTND is designed to be straddled. Seated posture on the NOSTND is more upright, with the heels positioned behind the bend of the knees, rather than extended forward of the knees as they would be in a leaning position. This posture allows individuals to move in much closer to flat-fronted work surfaces than might otherwise be possible. As a result, the NOSTND Perching Comfort PLUS Saddle Seat helps to reduce the risk of overreach injuries to the shoulders and back, and the risk of injury to the muscles of the sides and mid-section caused by sitting sideways along the base of the workstation and twisting at the waist to get close enough to its surface. By providing a centrally supported seat that bears the upper body weight, the NOSTND also helps to reduce the load generally borne by the feet and legs. Overall fatigue, and the risk of strain on the joints and tissues of the lower limbs can be greatly reduced.

Both the saddle style seat and the large back feature 3" cushioning; and both are height adjustable. The height of the seat can be adjusted between 23.25" and 28.75". The height adjustment range of the back is determined by the seat position. A convenient handle and large rollers on the rear glides let the NOSTND be moved with ease when required. The NOSTND dual rectangular steel tube base is rated to support up to 440 pounds.

If a more traditional style of seat is preferred, the RSTMOR Drafting PLUS Chair, which is also rated to 440 pounds might be a consideration.

The RISON Sit-Stand Stool (Classic) from Mey Chair Systems offers users the option of intermittently adopting a sitting position throughout the workday. Employing the RISON to bear the bulk of body weight permits the feet and legs to rest, reducing fatigue and potentially contributing to a more alert user.

The non-vertical, or leaning, stance effectively reduces the weight load on the joints of both the legs and the feet as the stool, rather than the legs and feet, becomes the load bearing support. The ability to position the seat in an elevated position also significantly reduces the effort required to return to a fully standing position. The shock absorbing effect of the easily adjusted gas cylinder provides additional comfort when the user sits down.

The non-pivoting seat offers an infinitely adjustable height range from 26" - 35.5" - suitable for users from about 5'2" up to 6'6". The polyurethane seat provides a firm yet cushioned seating surface with raised texture bumps. The detachable back support is also formed from the same foam as the seat. (Note: The back on the 11120 has a 2.5" deep curvature in the middle, is 14" wide, and has firm edges. Some users with broader frames may find the back on this model too narrow and deep for a comfortable fit. As an alternative they may wish to consider the EZSIT Comfort Elite Sit-Stand Stool , also from Mey Chair Systems, which offers a broader back (and seat) better suited to users of larger build.)

While the seat does offer the option of tilting it to accommodate a "leaning" position rather than the seated position the fact that the back support on this model is rigidly mounted to the tilting mechanism means that it is really only suitable for upright sitting (ie. when tilted the back follows the movement of the seat and prevents the adoption of a proper upright stance. Users wishing to use this seat as a "leaning" seat should consider the current model of the RISON which now incorporates independent back angle adjustment into the seat mechanism. The current seat-only version of the RISON is also available in two height ranges to accommodate the varying needs of users.

The heavy-duty textured black tubular steel base on the RISON Sit-Stand Leaning Stool is designed for industrial settings but functions well in many offices, providing strength and stability. Strong nylon glides engage the floor to ensure firm positioning of the seat and the incorporated rollers permit the chair to be easily moved between workstations. The unique design of the base maximizes stability while greatly reducing the risk of tripping for passersby.
