The Electric Kangaroo Pro is an electric motorized version of the standard Kangaroo Pro. Like the standard Kangaroo Pro, the Electric Pro is a desktop add-on unit which converts any ordinary desk into a sit-stand desk. It is free-standing (no clamping required) and easily moved to any position on your desk. The main keyboard platform adjusts up or down by an electric motor (activated by a button switch), and is 28" wide and 24" deep. With height-adjustability up to 20.5" above the desk, the Electric Kangaroo Pro will accommodate individuals who are up to 6' 8" tall. The monitor is attached to the Kangaroo using the standard VESA plate (75 mm x 75 mm or 100 mm x 100 mm patterns). This versatile monitor mount allows for panning, tilting, or rotating the monitor from landscape to portrait position. In addition, the monitor can be height-adjusted 6.5" independently of the keyboard platform using the gas cylinder mechanism.

Note: All units come with one stabilization leg. For extra tall individuals over 6' 1", request the extra tall leg. Colour options (Black, Cherry, Maple) and additional accessories are also available.

The WorkFit-TLE Sit-Stand Desktop Workstation from Ergotron features a "drop-down" keyboard tray to better accommodate the seated height requirements of users for whom the more common "above desk" retrofit solutions may not be suitable. It combines this with a large 23" D x 37.4" W work surface which includes a convenient integrated tablet/cell phone station with a removable tray cover. For additional convenience it also includes a detachable rear cable tray. The WorkFit-TLE moves directly up and down so a user is not forced to change position and step back from the desk. The dual releases ensure that accidental movement does not occur.

While at first glance the WorkFit-TLE may appear to offer great advantages over other desktop sit-stand retrofit products—because the tray is positioned below the mounting surface—users need to be aware that the distance below the desk surface is only 3.5". While this may work for a limited range of people, assuming a desk surface of 29" this will only position the keyboard tray down to 25.5". This means that it will actually be too high for users under 5'8". As well, because the tray is positioned below the desk surface the upper range is reduced, with the tray only able to rise 11.5" above the desk mounting surface, offering a suitable standing height for users only up to about 5'7".

The shallow depth of the keyboard tray, just 7.9", means that most ergonomic keyboards will not fit or will be limited in the range of adjustment that will be available to users. It also offers limited hand support for mousing, encouraging users to adopt usage modes that may greatly increase the risk of developing RSI.

Because the keyboard is positioned a full 8.5" below the monitor mounting surface users may find that their monitors are positioned too high for optimum viewing from a sitting position, especially if they happen to require multifocal eyewear. For standing purposes, even with the greater differential between the keyboard and the monitor mounting surfaces, most users will still require some kind of height adjustable monitor mount to further elevate the monitors.

Note: Users (above 5'10") may want to consider other options as the lower keyboard position will not provide the necessary range of keyboard height.

The Freedom Stand Dual from Ergotech Group is a height-adjustable sit-stand add-on unit that converts almost any sit-only desk into a sit-stand desk. This all-in-one unit will raise a keyboard, mouse, or other desk accessories, including dual monitors, to whatever standing height needed (up to 19.0" above desk height for the keyboard platform; up to almost 42.0" above desk height to the middle of the monitor).

The keyboard platform (30" W x 18.8" D) and monitor mount (75x75 or 100x100 mm VESA compatible) move as one unit for height adjustment.* The Freedom Stand uses a heavy metal base to stabilize the unit so that it can be positioned anywhere on the desk surface without having to clamp or bolt it to the desk. Also, there is a release mechanism built into the keyboard platform on the right side, which releases a lock when pressed so that you can then effortlessly move the platform up or down as desired.

*NOTE: The monitor height relative to the keyboard platform is set when the unit is assembled and is not intended to be adjusted on the fly while in use. It can be readjusted by disassembling the monitor clamp and reassembling at whatever height is needed.

The Eureka Sit-Stand Desktop 46 from Eureka Ergonomic converts a fixed-height desk into a height-adjustable sit-stand "desk". Unlike smaller desktop units this 46" wide really does convert an entire desk. It is free-standing (no clamping required) and can be moved between locations without disassembly. Dual hand-operated releases permit infinite keyboard height adjustment to any point from 1.125" - 15.75" above the mounting surface. If mounted on a 29.5" high surface this will provide a standing height suited to users up to well over six feet tall. The upper worksurface and the keyboard tray move in concert, maintaining a 4.25" difference between the two levels. In order to minimize the physical demands upon the user, adjustment is assisted by a gas springs rated up to a maximum combined rating of 35 lbs (5 on keyboard tray, 30 on worksurface). The keyboard tray features large 10" x 10" mousing areas on both right and left sides with enough space (19") between them to accommodate a full-size keyboard. The central portion of the tray is 14" deep and able to accommodate a laptop if desired. A slot at the rear of the keyboard tray serves to keep the largest of tablets viewable and accessible at all times when using a keyboard.

The expansive upper worksurface is 19" deep in the middle (see dimension image in the image gallery) with left and right zones that extend forward another 4.75" to provide additional space for documents, phone or gaming devices. Note: The Eureka Sit-Stand Desktop 46 will NOT fit on a 24" desk unless there is at least 1.5" of clearance behind the desk. When the Eureka Sit-Stand Desktop 46 is at its lowest setting the upper worksurface extends 1.375 inches back beyond the base, making it best suited to installation on surfaces at least 30" in depth or where there is sufficient clearance behind the base. At the lowest setting the overall depth of the unit is 34.25" so even on a 30" deep desk the front edges of the tray will extend out about 4.5". When the unit is raised it cantilevers forward towards the user as it rises, to an overall depth of 41.5" at the highest setting, extending about 12" out from the front of a 30" deep mounting surface.
