Note: The latest release of iOS13 for Apple portable devices includes support for USB Pointing Devices. This means that virtually all of the Pretorian Mouse Replacement solutions can now be used with iPads and iPhones that have iOS13 or newer. Connection to the portable device requires a "camera adapter cable". Because the mousing device will be powered by the phone or tablet it is preferable to use one with pass-through charging so the portable device can charge while the mousing device is attached and in use.
In the case of the SimplyWorks solutions, the Receive:2 is still required to support the pointing device connection. The Receive:2 plugs into the camera adapter cable and provides the wireless connection to the pointing device.

The ProTouch from Sun-Flex is a central, multi-touch pointing device. The plug-and-play ProTouch positions directly in front of any standard straight-edged keyboard, moving cursor control and clicking actions to a central location easily accessed by either (or both) hands. The integrated touchpad allows individuals to move the cursor as they would with any other touchpad. However, the multitouch gesture technology also makes it possible to perform additional functions such as Left Click, Right Click, Scroll, and Zoom. Model 400306 offers Extended Functions for Windows 8, gesture features that can be extended to application related functions.

The ProTouch is solidly built with aluminum housing and tactile keys for quick access to common functions such as Copy, Paste, Left Click, Right Click, and Double Click.

The StudioMouse Wireless from Kensington is an ambidextrous wireless mouse that features touch scrolling rather than a traditional scroll wheel. Scrolling is accomplished by swiping the finger up or down the touch zone or holding the finger down for continuous scrolling. A middle button just above the touch zone supports auto-scrolling as well. The wireless receiver and charging station connects via USB (for data communication) and a standard wall adapter (for charging). The ambidextrous design makes this suitable for right- or left-handed use. The small dimensions of this mouse (4.5"L x 2.5"W x 1.25"H) make this best suited for those with smaller or average size hands.

This mouse is New Old Stock so the included NiMH rechargeable batteries are untested. However the mouse can use standard AAA batteries. It has been tested and verified to fully function under current versions of Windows.

The large lightweight 55 mm ball features a silky, smooth movement that offers sufficient resistance without straining the fingers. This smooth movement, combined with Diamond Eye optical technology, ensures precision level cursor control is available for gaming, photo editing, or everyday work. The Expert Mouse Wired Trackball also features a ScrollRing around the base of the ball, giving users easy access to quick scrolling whenever necessary.

Basic mouse click functions are plug-and-play but users also have the option of installing the TrackballWorks software for total customization of the 4 large buttons surrounding the ball. The RollerMouse Pro2 by Contour Design is a central pointing device which uses a rollerbar instead of a traditional mouse and is designed to sit immediately in front of the keyboard below the space bar. This allows one to perform all mousing activity in the area immediately 'below' the keyboard, eliminating the need to reach for a mouse. The RollerMouse Pro2 is best for workspaces with insufficient room for a mouse by freeing up space, providing more room in restricted workspaces.

The cursor is moved by rolling a 'dowel' or cyclindrical control bar with the fingertips to achieve 'up' and 'down' movement, and sliding this bar from side to side for horizontal movement. Once the desired location is achieved, the left click can be generated by pressing down on the bar (the force required for this is adjustable from ultra-light touch to highly tactile). Five buttons and a scroll wheel are located below the bar to generate left/middle/right clicks, copy, paste and vertical scrolling.

The Pro2 comes with adjustable keyboard 'risers' to lift up conventional and compact single piece keyboards. This product does not work well with adjustable or separated keyboards such as the Kinesis Freestyle2 or the Goldtouch keyboard - if you want to use this product with these types of keyboards, we recommend the rubberized RollerMouse Mat accessory or consider purchasing the RollerMouse Free3 or the Rollermouse Re:d.
