The 3M Gel Wrist Rest Platform for Keyboard is designed for those who want to reduce wrist extension (i.e. an upward bend at the hand) with its associated risk of injury to the wrist and forearms. This often occurs when working with a conventional keyboard at a seated or standing workstation. The platform is placed directly on the desk surface to provide a base for the keyboard. The gel wrist rest is secured to the platform in front of the keyboard, providing support beneath the heel of the hands to keep the forearms, wrists and hands in comfortable alignment when typing.

Two sets of optional rubber feet are included, and can be attached to the underside of the platform to create either 5° or 10° of negative tilt for the keyboard to provide further insurance against wrist extension.

At 19.5" wide, the platform and wrist rest accommodate standard keyboards with built-in numeric keypads. The gel-filled wrist rest is 0.25" thick, with leatherette cover. The cover has an embedded anti-microbial treatment that inhibits the growth of bacteria.

Placed directly on the desk surface, the platform provides a base for the keyboard and the mousing area, with the gel wrist rest spanning the platform width. The wrist rest provides support beneath the palms when typing, keeping the forearms, wrists and hands in comfortable alignment. When placed beneath the heel of the hand, the gel wrist rest also helps to ensure comfortable alignment of the wrist and forearm when mousing.

Two sets of optional rubber feet are included with the platform. When attached beneath the front of the platform the feet create a negative tilt of either 5° or 10° to provide further insurance against wrist extension.

Note: A greater degree of negative tilt is often necessary to minimize wrist extension at standing workstations.

The gel-filled wrist rest is 25.5" wide, 0.25" thick, with a leatherette cover. The cover has an embedded antimicrobial treatment that inhibits bacterial growth. Included with the platform and wrist rest is a 3M Precise Mousing Surface (designed to improve optical tracking and preserve battery life). The mousing surface is repositionable and can be placed to the left or right of the keyboard.

The track is 23.25" long, and uses screws to mount to the desk. It features a built-in leatherette wrist rest which is easier to clean than other wrist rests, and lasts longer. This tray allows easy height, tilt, and swivel positioning of your keyboard. While it does offer both height and tilt adjustment these cannot be adjusted independent of each other, i.e. any adjustment requires resetting of both height and tilt. It includes a full-width leatherette-covered gel palm pad (with anti-microbial protection; 3M model WR340LE) and a 7.25" x 6.25" 3M Precise Optical Mousing Surface (MP200PS) that can be positioned to the left or right. Installation is done without tools in four easy steps, typically in less than 10 minutes. The sliding track is attached via an adhesive strip and the front is secured by hooking the front lip over the desk edge. Also, the keyboard tray is storable, but not fully under the desk (3.0" protrusion); and the tray itself is made of coated MDF (Medium Density Fiber) board.
