The new Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 uses a unique gull-wing design with 14 degree tent, and a centrally located zoom slider.

This new design includes a negatively sloped wrist rest which is optimal as long as your worksurface can be adjusted to be practically on top of your lap. If the worksurface is too high, this will cause a 'pinch point' and actually reduce the ergonomic benefit of this keyboard. The keys are sloped up towards the 'gap', so that pronation is reduced on most of the alpha section of the keyboard. However the editing keys, cursor arrows and numeric keypad is completely flat (no tent whatsoever).

Gull Wing Design Tent - 14 degrees of tent on the innermost column down to 0 degrees of tent on the outermost column of keys.
Removable palm supports - comfortably padded negatively inclined palm support.
Zoom Slider - Zoom in quickly and accurately with the intuitive Zoom Slider. With the touch of a finger you can zoom in to edit small details, like red eye in digital photographs, then zoom out to view the entire image—without taking your hand off the keyboard. The Zoom Slider makes it a breeze to read small print in documents and spreadsheets, and tiny text in e-mail and Web pages. It's as intuitive as adjusting the lighting in a room by using a dimmer. Just slide a lever on the keyboard to zoom in and zoom out.
