Information Sheet on the Kinesis Evolution Keyboard in PDF
format.
Unsurpassed in flexibility and adjustability, this keyboard
can be instantly customized with on-board programming features. The new Kinesis
Evolution fully adjustable ergonomic keyboard offers a unique set of ergonomic
features not found in any other computer keyboard. Attached to an under-desk
articulating track, the Evolution is the only keyboard that offers variable
height with a full range of movement in all three planes.
Features for Comfort
Variable separation: up to 17.5 inches of
separation between the left and right keyboard halves.
Unlimited lateral tilt: each keyboard module can
be independently adjusted from zero to ninety degrees, greatly reducing
forearm tension.
Unlimited rotation: each keyboard half can be independently rotated
to adapt to a user's particular needs.
Adjustable height: the height can be lowered up to six inches
(6") below the desk surface.
Features for Productivity
Unlimited key remapping: up to 24 macros (each with 56 characters).
Works on all operating systems; no software or drivers required.
Extremely easy transition: layout
is identical to traditional QWERTY PC-compatible keyboard.
Pointing device is close at hand: integrated touchpad with Glidepoint
technology from industry leader, Cirque. Available even with dual touchpads.
How does it adjust?
Lateral separation and "tenting": Pivoting knobs clamp to horizontal
rods allow independent, infinite adjustment.
Front (i.e. negative) tilt: Track head has knob on right side which,
when loosened, allows track head to be tilted up or down. Some tilt adjustment
is also possible using knobs and rods.
Height adjustment: Simply raise or lower the track head and attached
keyboard. The track head height adjusting mechanism is self-releasing (by
tilting up slightly) and self-locking.
Under-desk storage: With a normal width desk, simply "lift & lower"
the track head and attached keyboard, press the track release button and slide
the keyboard under the desk. For narrow knee spaces, you may need to steeply
tilt one side of the keyboard to attain adequate clearance for under-desk
storage.
If you have Macromedia Flash, you can view an animation which demonstrates
the Evolution's incredible range of adjustment in action. Click on it to start
the animation and click on it again to stop the animation.

a right touchpad option, left touchpad option and dual touchpad option. The
dual touchpad requires either both PS/2 and Serial ports on your computer -

are available.
