Greystone Digital Big Keys Plus Keyboard (BK-PP series) - Detailed Specifications Page

The keys on this keyboard are 1" square - four times larger than standard keys - and are available in colour in the standard QWERTY layout or an easy-to-use ABC format for children. Big Keys Plus differs from Big Keys LX in that it has a more limited keyset - less punctuation and special characters. It is designed so that children will have fun using both educational computer programs and games. The big keys are perfect for small fingers, and the alphabetic arrangement with vowels all in the color yellow, "R" in red, "G" in green, etc., will accelerate their automatic recognition of letters, and their progress in learning to read. For even the youngest users, the large keys with large letters will make it easy to type and interact with the computer.

• Normal Sized Keys: 6 normal sized keys for CapsLock, CTRL, ALT, Tab, Del and ESC
• Switchable Layout (Hardwired): Familiar QWERTY or ABC key layout, switch between them by moving the switch on the bottom of the keyboard with a pencil tip toward the lower edge of the keyboard for ABC or toward the upper edge for QWERTY. Although the letters on the keycaps will remain the same, the computer will interpret all keystrokes as coming from the alternate keyboard layout.
• Shift Key: Gives access to upper/lower case alphabet and punctuation keys.
• Easy-to-read key labels: Large black letters on white or multi-colour keys OR white letters on black keys
• Contains all essential characters: 97 character keyset.
• Compatible with all major software packages.
• No special software required! Just plug into your PC in place of the regular keyboard. PS/2 or optional USB connector.
• Run-On Eliminated: Each key press generates only 1 character, no matter how long the key is held down.
• F1-F10 keys: Press and hold the "F" key and the numeric keys become F1-F10. To accomodate one-handed operation, Big Keys LX provides an Assist Mode. In Assist Mode, function keys can be produced by successively pressing "F" and the numeric key rather than simultaneously pressing the 2 keys.

Protective Skin for BigKeys Plus (Part Number BK-PP-SKIN) Made from Ultraflex, the Keyboard Skin is an ultrasoft polymer skin that fits snugly over the BigKeys keys. The Skin protects your BigKeys keyboard from dust, moisture and liquids without changing the feel of the keyboard.
Rigid Keyguards for BigKeys (Part Number BK-PP-GUARD) BigKeys Keyguards are made of clear, rigid, break resistant plastic. The keyguard attaches easily to your BigKeys keyboard and helps to stabilize fingers on the right key while minimizing errors. Allows the user to rest hands over the keys.
BigKeys to USB Single Port Adapter (PS2-to-USB) (Part Number USB-BK) This PS2-to-USB single port adapter is custom designed specifically to convert a BigKeys keyboard to a USB port. The adapter accommodates the special BigKeys "no run-on" feature, which is defeated by use of a generic USB adapter. For Windows 98 (& newer) operating systems. Also for iMac or other USB-enabled Mac computers. NOTE: Standard adapters will not permit the BigKeys Keyboard to function properly (click here for an explanation). ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you are ordering this adapter for an older BigKeys keyboard that you already own: this adapter is only for use with BigKeys manufactured in 2004 or later.
