Product Description

The Goldtouch Adjustable Ergonomic Keyboard allows you to adjust the two alphanumeric sections both horizontally and vertically to suit your individual body requirements. This helps you assume a more natural posture that is conducive to improving comfort and productivity while using your computer. Features include:

Native USB with PS/2 Adapter
Adjustment for wrist splay in the horizontal plan: 0°- 30°, continuously variable
Adjustment for wrist pronation - vertical tenting 0°- 30°, continuously variable
Adjustment is through a locking ball and socket latch mechanism, with a friction lock and release
Small, space saving foot-print to bring your mouse inside your ergonomic 'comfort zone'
Editing key layout for left-right work distribution
Large space bars for easy thumb use
Full size, full travel, tactile feedback keys with soft end-stop
Low noise key actuation
Embedded numeric keypad with toggle access

The Goldtouch Adjustable Keyboard also comes in three other varieties:

Ergonomic Benefits

Splay
The two keyboard halves are joined at the top by a ball and socket mechanism, allowing for maximum continuous splaying of 30° (although if keyboard halves are tented at 30°, the splaying angle will be slightly less).
Tenting
The two keyboard halves are joined at the top by a ball and socket mechanism, also allowing for maximum continuous tenting of 30° (although if keyboard halves are splayed at 30°, the tenting angle will be slightly less).
Footprint
At only 15.3" wide, the Goldtouch Adjustable Keyboard provides for close placement of any pointing device, keeping you in your comfort zone and reducing any discomfort that may be caused by overreaching.

Features

Native USB with PS/2 Adapter
Although there is no native PS/2 keyboard available for the Goldtouch Adjustable Keyboard, the GTN series comes with a PS/2 adapter, so that you can connect the keyboard to your computer via its PS/2 port.
Adjustment for wrist splay
The Goldtouch Adjustable Keyboard has continuous splaying within the horizontal plane of 0°- 30°.
Adjustment for wrist pronation
The Goldtouch Adjustable Keyboard also has continuously variable vertical tenting of 0°- 30°.
Adjustment is through a locking ball and socket latch mechanism
Splaying and tenting are adjusted and then fixed by using a locking ball and socket latch mechanism, which makes customizing your keyboard configuration easy and simple.
Small, space saving footprint
The small footprint of the Goldtouch Adjustable Keyboard saves desk space and brings mousing devices closer to you, helping you to reduce injuries due to overreaching.
Editing key layout for left-right work distribution
The editing keys are positioned in the layout so that they are evenly distributed on both the left and right sides of the keyboard, thereby balancing the workload on the hands and fingers. On the right side are the Delete, Print Screen, Pause/Break, and Backspace keys; on the left side are the Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys.
Full size, full travel, tactile feedback keys
The membrane keys of the Goldtouch Adjustable Keyboard are full size, full travel and tactile, which gives you both comfort and the necessary feedback to type effeciently.
Large space bars
The large space bars on the keyboard help you easily target these keys for maximum effeciency while typing.
Low noise key actuation
The keys produce low noise when struck, reducing annoying clacking.
Embedded numeric keypad
Because the traditional numeric keypad on the right hand side has been removed, an embedded numeric keypad was added to still give that functionality for those who regularly use a numeric keypad - but without the additional space requirements.

* Do not attempt to plug a Goldtouch keyboard into one of the USB ports located on the sides of the USB keypad, as these ports are intended only for low power devices, like mice or USB storage drives. Doing so will cause the keyboard and keypad to malfunction.

How to Install using the USB Connector

First, shut down your computer.

How are you set up? Determine which applies to you:

Laptop with a Docking Station:
If you are using a laptop through a Docking Station, please be sure to connect the keyboard directly into an available USB port on the computer itself the first time. Once you have followed the instructions below, you can connect the keyboard through the Docking Station for use.

Multiple computers via KVM switch:
If you are connecting two or more computers through a KVM switch, be sure to install the keyboard onto each computer that will be used before connecting it to the KVM switch. A KVM switch will not allow the drivers to install automatically; therefore it is necessary to connect the keyboard directly into each computer for proper installation the first time. Be sure that your KVM switch is for USB devices, not PS/2.

Desktop or Laptop with limited USB input ports:
Determine the number of available USB ports on your computer. You may want to add a USB Hub or port expander to accommodate multiple devices like mice, printers, keyboards, numeric keypads, PDA's, etc.

Installation:
Remove the PS/2 adapter from the end of the keyboard cord (as equipped on GTN models) so that the USB input is exposed.

Connect the keyboard directly into a USB port on the computer, power up the computer and allow Windows to detect the device and install the drivers. Do not attempt to install via hub or switch, as the keyboard must be connected directly to the computer for correct driver installation. You may see a window that tells you the hardware is installed and ready for use when it is done.

If you are connecting a Goldtouch USB numeric keypad in conjunction with a Goldtouch keyboard, be sure to connect it via USB as described above. For correct operation, the numeric keypad must be plugged directly into the computer for installation, but can be connected through a hub once the drivers have been installed.

Do not attempt the plug the keyboard into one of the USB ports located on the sides of the USB keypad, as these ports are intended only for low power devices, like mice or USB storage drives. Doing so will cause the keyboard and keypad to malfunction.
