Product Summary |
---|
The Rite-In-Line Document Holder from Workrite Ergonomics is designed to serve as a document holder and writing surface. It is ideal for those who wish to reduce neck rotation when accessing their reference documents. While the Rite-In-Line can still be used as a more traditional document holder on the desk - either in-line or to one side (especially the 11" wide model), its key strength comes from its capability of cantilevering over the front of a desk and lowering down above a keyboard tray. When documents are positioned in this fashion there is no need to turn the head to either side so focus can remain on the screen and reference materials. Where notation is required, the central position also eliminates any leaning or stretching to the side. And since the easel is lowered below the desk the view of the monitor is unobstructed. The easel angle can be adjusted through 15 settings ranging from 42° to 82°. Height adjustment is accomplished with a knob on the rear of the easel. The included static-cling line guide can be used to aid in maintaining position in documents.
The Rite-In-Line comes in two widths, 11" and 17". The 17" is capable of fully supporting two pages, an open binder, or file folders. The 11" width is more practical if there is limited space available. The steel ledge on both models is easily able to support even thick stacks of paper but heavier documents may require a lower viewing angle to ensure stability when cantilevered over the desk. The Rite-In-Line ships with adhesive velcro tabs that can be added to better secure the base in these situations.
The Rite-In-Line is designed and constructed to offer years of use, with phenolic composite and steel construction. Unlike lighter plastic and acrylic products that offer similar function there is little risk of damage to this product. The manufacturer demonstrates their confidence in the Rite-In-Line Document Holder by offering a limited lifetime warranty. The robust construction makes this the ideal option for locations where durability and long life are important. |
Ergonomic Benefits |
---|
Reduces Neck and Shoulder Pain - The Rite-In-Line Document Holder facilitates placement of materials for reading or note-taking directly in front of the torso, between the keyboard and the monitor. Placing reference materials directly in front allows workers to avoid repeatedly turning the head or having to look down at the desk.
Reduces Risk of Injury to the Upper Back - When used with a keyboard tray it is possible to lower the easel to just above the keyboard, letting each person determine how close they can get to the desk. Touch typists may be able to position the upper keys slightly recessed to reduce reaching when changing documents, turning pages, or making notations. It also frees space for other desktop tools to be better positioned within the Comfort Zone. Learn More About the Comfort Zone.

Note: Experiment with different easel angles, drop heights and loads to ensure stability when using the easel in this configuration. - Tilt Adjustable: The angle of the easel can be adjusted from 42° to 82° (15 settings). Simply move the rear support to a new setting in the base.
- Transparent Line Guide: A transparent static-cling line guide is included to assist in keeping position in the text.

Usage Tips |
---|
- Ensure your monitor is at the correct height. Position the document holder between the keyboard and monitor, with the top of the reference material just below the viewing area of your monitor. If there is insufficient room to do this, position the holder as close to you as possible to avoid overextending when you reposition your reference materials. Adjust the angle to provide optimum viewing given the lighting and other factors at your workstation. Learn More About Monitor Position
- When using the cantilever function be careful to position documents so that the Rite-In-Line cannot overbalance. Positioning the easel at a lower angle will aid in maintaining stability. The included velcro tabs can be installed to help increase stability, especially when notation work is being done.
- Use the included line guide to aid in keeping your eyes focused on your position in documents.
