The Eureka Swing Chair from Eureka Ergonomic merges new aesthetics and production technology with the proven design of the patented ErgoMotion mechanism. The Eureka may look different on the outside but beneath the new look is the same counterbalance mechanism design that put earlier SwingSeat and SwingChair models in a class by themselves.
The seat and backrest of the Eureka Swing Chair sense the position of the body and adjust independently to provide perfectly aligned support that effortlessly shifts and synchronizes with the user as they move throughout the day. No longer do users have to adjust their chair as they change position—rather, the chair automatically makes necessary adjustments based on the movement of the user. Regardless of whether the user is leaning back to relax, forward to answer the phone or just sitting working on the computer, the Eureka Swing Chair will be continuously adjusting to their every movement. The patented counterbalancing tilt mechanism ensures that the lumbar support remains in perfect alignment as you move throughout the day.
Because the Eureka Swing Chair adapts to the user—once the seat height, backrest depth and backrest tension are set most users will never need to adjust their chair again—the ErgoMotion mechanism takes care of that. With the natural rhythmic movement of the body restored, the user is able to fully focus on their work not on how to adjust their chair to be more comfortable.
The Eureka Swing Chair is also available in a Executive version with Leather upholstery, headrest, and polished aluminum base.
Helps to Improve Body Health - The continuous movement that the Eureka Swing Chair introduces encourages blood and fluid flows through the internal organs. Unlike a conventional seated position (i.e. 90ยบ bend) which restricts this movement, The dynamic motion of the Swing Chair and the ability to casually stretch when leaning back permits users to open that bend up to 122°. Regular utilization of the full range of motion can benefit the internal operations of the body by reducing potential restrictions in the digestive tract and permitting the diaphragm to move more freely with the potential to significantly increase cardiovascular activity.
Reduces Risk of Lower Back Pain - The dynamic articulating movement of the Eureka Swing Chair ensures that the backrest provides consistent lumbar support in all postural positions. Backrest tension is adjustable, with three settings to meet the needs of the widest range of users.
Dynamic Tilt Seat Pan - As the seat pan tilts independent of the back rest it is always in the correct alignment to match the posture adopted by the user.Correct alignment reduces stress on the lower end of the spinal column.
Can Reduce Neck and Shoulder Issues - The Eureka Swing Chair features 4-D armrests with a range of adjustment in width, depth, height, and angle. These adjustments enable each user to position the armrests to offer support where it will provide the greatest benefit, while yet remaining easily adjustable should changes in tasks warrant. Adjusting the armrests as needed ensures that the shoulder joints are not overloaded and that the muscles of the shoulders and neck are not overstrained. A side benefit of this can be a reduction to the risk of development of muscle tension which can lead to performance-reducing or potentially debilitating headaches.
Increases Mental Alertness - The continuous effortless movement generated by the Eureka Swing Chair can naturally increase cardiovascular activity. Movement increases circulation which facilitates the transmission of more oxygen to the brain. Higher levels of oxygen contribute to a greater degree of mental alertness which can lead to greater productivity as users may also find themselves able to remain alert and comfortable for greater periods.
Can Reduce General Fatigue - Movement is key to ensuring that worker fatigue is controlled. Static sitting at a workstation reduces blood flow and encourages shallow breathing. Combined these result in a reduction in oxygen to both the brain and body tissue, contributing to overall fatigue. The Eureka Swing Chair does not force users to adopt a static posture but instead naturally follows the body, creating a new seating behaviour where users will naturally engage in a greater degree of movement throughout their day.
Ensures Active Movement - The automatic movement that occurs as users shift between tasks means that the Eureka Swing Chair is always working in the background to subconsciously encourage the user to engage in movement throughout the day. Eliminating the option of "locking" the chair at a fixed angle means that users cannot forget (or avoid) changing posture as the day progresses - resulting in a corresponding increase in movement.
Prevents Perching - The dynamically tilting seat pan provides strong kinesthetic feedback to users who have a tendency to sit at the front edge of the seat. On the Eureka Swing, "perchers" will quickly feel unstable. Shifting further back on the seat to their natural "balance point" restores stability and ensures that they benefit from proper back and lumbar support provided by the back rest.
Can Reduce Risk of Circulation Restriction in Lower Legs - The ability of the Eureka Swing Chair seat to move and tilt independent of the back ensures that users do not find the front of the seat digging into the back of the thigh when leaning back. Traditional office chairs tilt the front of the seat upwards when the chair is tilted back - but because the Seat and Backrest of the Swing Chair move independently the seat remains at a natural angle which eliminates the potential for the reduction of circulation in the legs.
Encourages Correct Posture at Workstation - Seat height is easily adjusted using the simple hand lever. This enables users to easily set their seat to a height appropriate to their build, optimizing their posture at their workstation.
Increases Blood Flow to Key Muscles of the Body - The old saying "use it or lose it" is true when it comes to good health for the back. The human body hates static positions and craves motion because motion supplies the back, discs, muscles and ligaments with blood and nutrition, keeping them healthy.
Improves Focus - Reach forward to answer the phone, lean back to relax, sit up to work at the keyboard, the Eureka Swing Chair seat and backrest automatically provide superb comfort and support. The user can concentrate 100% of their effort on their work while enjoying the wonderful benefits of natural motion because the Swing Chair allows the posture to continuously vary without having to make any adjustments to the chair. The Swing Chair is the only chair in the world that allows the body to move naturally, in the same way that one walks, swims and dances. Because the Swing Chair dynamically adjusts to the user, they will never have to fuss with levers and complicated controls.
Continuous Effortless Movement: The patented mechanism and contoured cushions of the Eureka Swing Chair perfectly counterbalance the body of the user as they move from one task to another. From the moment they sit down, the Swing Chair senses the position of their body and independently adjusts the seat and backrest to perfectly align to the user because the movement of the Swing Chair is synchronized to the movement of the user.
Dynamically Adjusting Lumbar Support: The backrest on the Eureka Swing Chair adjusts dynamically, following the movement of the user as they change posture throughout the day. Because the backrest follows the movement of the back the lumbar region receives appropriately positioned support regardless of the position the worker adopts.
Adjustable Backrest Resistance: The Eureka Swing Chair provides 3 resistance settings for the backrest movement. This enables users to choose the resistance best suited to their requirements or comfort.
Innovative Depth Adjustment: The "swing" design of the Eureka Swing Chair requires that the user be balanced on the seat pan. In order to accommodate users of varying body type the back rest is depth adjustable.
"Waterfall Front" Seat Pan: The seat pan on the Eureka Swing Chair is equipped with a "waterfall" front to reduce the risk of unnecessary pressure being exerted against the back of the thighs. This means that the front lip drops down in a "waterfall" effect. Combined with the dynamic movement of the seatpan this creates a smooth transition away from the back of the thighs.
4-D Armrests: The Eureka Swing Chair features 4-D Armrests that are adjustable for height, width (from the inner edge of the left armrest to the inner edge of the right armrest), depth (forward and backward) and pivot (to the left and right). See "Specifications" below for detailed range of movement.
Intuitive Movement: Eureka Swing Chairs continuously and automatically adjust from full forward "incline" to full backward "recline", as the chair is perfectly counterbalanced. Shifting position or inclination is completely simple and intuitive.
Ease of Adjustment: Instantly and automatically the user can achieve the full range of possible seating positions without distraction. Their eyes and hands are not pulled away from their monitor and desktop as they move in the chair. With no levers or knobs to use (or more accurately, neglect to use) the user enjoys complete natural movement without the use of a single lever.
Executive Model Available: The Eureka Swing Chair is also available in an Executive model which features Genuine Leather upholstery, a polished aluminum base, higher backrest, and headrest.

Depth Adjustment is accomplished by moving backrest forward. This optimizes the position that the user adopts on the seat while effectively shortening the seat for those of smaller stature. Width: 20" (50.8 cm) Depth: 16.5" - 18" (41.9 - 45.7 cm)
Seat Tilt/Inclination:
The dynamic nature of the Eureka Swing Chair mechanism means that the seat is never fixed, much like a playground swing does not have a fixed angle. The angle of the seat will change continuously with every posture adjustment the user makes. This "swing" effect is what makes the Eureka Swing Chair so unique, the body is in continuous movement as the seat and back dynamically adjust to postural changes.
Lumbar Height and Depth both dynamically adjust with the user while they work. In an upright posture the lumbar support point is roughly 6.5" above the seat pan. However, because of the dynamic adjustment this will change continuously as the user changes posture angle in the seat.
