The Vertebral-Soft Arm Support was designed to address several of the issues associated with extended computer use. Traditional keyboard and mouse usage tends to place the weight of the forearms in front of the body, putting a continuous level of stress on the shoulders and the back vertebrae. The Vertebral-Soft addresses this by providing a unique arm support bar that is adjustable in both height and depth. This enables users to position it at the ideal comfort spot to maintain optimum support for the arms, transferring the imbalanced weight onto the arm support bar that is attached to the desk. When optimally positioned the Vertebral-Soft Arm Support can also ensure that the wrists are not permitted to drop into a position of extension, a risk factor for development of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

The Vertebral-Soft Arm Support is constructed of heavy gauge steel that ensures rigidity and durability. The keyboard and right-hand mousing surface is 26.75" wide by 12" deep, and comes with a matching pad that provides comfort as well as serving as a low-friction mousing surface. The integrated arm 2.5" deep support bar extends 2.75" from the front edge of the desk when stored and can be extended as far as 9.75", depending on they type of arm support desired. The bar can be set for positioning level, above, or below the mounting surface.
Note: This is a new unit but one of the four pressure plates for mounting is missing. This does not affect the usage as even a thin piece of rigid plastic will serve as a replacement.

Mounted onto a standard office desk, the Universal Forearm Support creates a gently curving inset at the front of the desk and comfortable support for both forearms. The Universal Forearm Support features European styling and craftsmanship and tool-free installation. The surface is composed of a polyurethane foam pad covered with supple imitation leather. The foam cushioning helps to prevent injury to pressure-sensitive areas on the inside of the arm, and the imitation leather cover offers frictionless movement. The cover can be cleaned and disinfected as necessary.

Those who use low-profile keyboards may wish to consider the Slimline Forearm Support Pro which has slim profile better suited to these thinner keyboards.

Included steel brackets and winged bolts clamp the Universal Forearm Support securely to any desk or table up to 1.0" thick, and a plate steel base ensures overall strength and rigidity.

There are now two models of the Universal Forearm Support to better accommodate the full range of keyboard heights. The new SLIMLINE Forearm Support PRO offers a noticeably lower profile, at just 0.43" in height it is well-suited for use with lower profile keyboards. The lower profile is accommodated by a layer of higher density foam than that on the basic model. The firm foam still provides sufficient cushioning when the arms and palms are being rested. Those who use lower-profile keyboards may wish to consider the SLIMLINE Forearm Support PRO. The Slimline Pro also has an improved and wider range of mounting options.

Note: Arm and hand support solutions which elevate the hand above the mousing surface can subtly change hand placement on some specialized mousing devices, potentially affecting the manner in which the user interacts with the devices and possibly limiting the ergonomic benefits generally associated with them.
